RIDGELAND, Miss. — Delta Industries, Inc. has named Matthew Wilson as its Director of Safety. Wilson brings more than 20 years of safety leadership experience across transportation, logistics and high-risk operational environments.
Wilson joins Delta from Penske Logistics, where he served as director of safety and compliance, supporting a network of more than 2,000 associates and operations exceeding $250 million. Throughout his career, he has led large-scale safety initiatives, strengthened compliance programs and worked closely with operations teams to build practical, effective safety cultures. His background spans OSHA, FMCSA, DOT and regulatory compliance, paired with a hands-on approach to risk management and continuous improvement.
Wilson holds a Bachelor of Science in industrial technology from Southeast Missouri State University and is a board-certified safety professional (CSP).
His career began in the U.S. Army, where he served as a truck driver transporting hazardous materials and construction supplies in remote environments — an experience that shaped his perspective on safety, discipline and leadership.
“I’m excited to join the Delta team and get out in the field with the people doing the work every day,” Wilson said. “Safety only works when it’s shared — when drivers, maintenance, and operations are engaged and looking out for each other. I’m here to support that partnership and make sure we’re approaching the work safely, every time.”
Wilson will be based in Delta’s Ridgeland office and plans to travel regularly to connect with teams across the company’s locations in Mississippi and Tennessee.
Outside of work, Wilson and his wife, Katelin, are actively involved in volunteer efforts, including Wreaths Across America, the National Veterans Wheelchair Games, and local memory care initiatives. The couple, along with their rescue dog, Smokey, relocated from High Point, N.C.
